The Rocket Racing League® game is based on the real-world Rocket Racing League (RRL) where Top Gun pilots maneuver rocket-powered aircraft through a virtual 3D Raceway-In-The-Sky™. The 14th Indianapolis Air Show despite poor weather is still is one of the best in North America!  by The Moose Guy | The Indianapolis Air Show is one of the best air shows in North America in my opinion, having visited several dozen over the years. This year, it was the 14th consecutive air show to thrill the visitors at Mt. Comfort Air Port just East of Indianapolis. While the air show was well planned, one thing no one can predict and control is the weather, and this year it did not cooperate with the air show organizer's plans…

Legends of Flight - The Movie from Things with Wings by Guy Norris | Now the dust has settled following last week's adventures surrounding the premier of Legends of Flight, the first 3D aviation film produced in a 15/70mm Imax format, I wanted to give you my impressions of the film itself. Although the film focuses on a behind-the-scenes the look at the design and development of the Boeing 787, the theme is interwoven with stories and images to illustrate key aerospace milestones over the past century. Coming from the maker of majestic Imax classics such as Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag and Titanica, the latest Giant Screen feature film from Canadian filmmaker Stephen Low is not surprisingly packed with powerful imagery. However Low cleverly uses 787 chief pilot Mike Carriker to guide the viewer through the story, as well as a battery of advanced digital animation techniques to help describe basic principles of structures, systems and propulsion…

Know when to crow from General Aviation News by Jamie Beckett | To at least some degree we pilot types have gotten a bad rap. More often than not I find that we're characterized as whiners, babies, rich guys who want everybody else in town to pay for their playthings. And while I disagree entirely with that perspective, I can completely understand how we came to earn the reputation. The non-pilot community only hears about the pilot community when we want something. They rarely hear about Young Eagle flights, Angel Flights, or any of the other altruistic, supportive things we do in our communities. Pilots only make the paper when we want something, or when we make a deep impact in the earth. In either case, the slant the public sees in the news is not in our favor…
