Robins air show 'mushrooming' into one of best in the nation by Gene Rector | A declining defense budget could turn out to be a boost to Robins Air Force Base this year ... at least for the base's April 28 and 29 air show and open house.  In an information session Monday afternoon for community members, base officials said so many air shows have been cancelled this year across the country that the local extravaganza is "mushrooming into one of the biggest events of the year."  The free local event is already featuring the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron, the Defense Department's oldest aerobatic unit....

Astronaut Application Deadline Approaching from Aero-News Network | Over 3,000 Potential Spacefarers Have Applied For The Next Class Individuals interested in becoming America's future space explorers have until Friday to submit their applications. The deadline to apply for NASA's next astronaut class is Jan. 27. The agency typically receives as many as 3,500 applicants for each astronaut class.
