National Warbird Operator Conference from http://www.warbirdconference.com/
Founded in 1993, the annual NWOC event brings together warbird owners, operators, and museum directors to address particular events facing warbird owners and to discuss common goals related to the ever-changing economics, operations and regulations pertaining to flying ex-military aircraft. NWOC focuses on the exchange of ideas and information concerning the safe operation and restoration of warbird aircraft. This unique educational conference offers programs to enhance pilot skill and knowledge, expand aircraft maintenance technician and restorer knowledge, develop awareness of medical and insurance facts, and address aircraft-specific topics to ensure continued flight for these unique historic aircraft. As one participant remarked, "…we are not owners of these treasures, but rather caretakers who ensure that future generations can better understand history." That statement emphasizes the importance of the educational goals of NWOC.

WAAAM opens new building By Meg Godlewski
Although it hasn’t been open for very long, the Western Antique and Aeroplane Automobile Museum, located at Oregon’s Hood River Airport/Ken Jernstedt Airfield (4S2), just celebrated a major milestone: the opening of a 45,000-square foot hangar. “It adds to the nearly one acre of space we already have,” says the museum’s Donna Davidson. The new hangar holds the museum’s 1940s-era aircraft, including L- Birds, a PT-22, an N3N on floats, a Cessna T-50 “Bamboo Bomber,” an HE-1 Navy air ambulance, and automobiles, both civilian and military, as well as guns and fire trucks, according to Davidson. Wings Over Wairarapa # 11: Curtis P-40E Kittyhawk, North American P51-D Mustang & Goodyear FG-1D Corsair from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings by Rodney
While each of these aircraft deserve their own post, they are all so closely related due to service in various theatres of World War 2 and their combined displays at the airshow. In addition, each of these types were operated by the Royal New Zealand Air Force [RNZAF] at various times.
Wings Over Wairarapa # 12: de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings by Rodney
Although not flying in the display, there were three De Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunks on display, as per the following pictures. It would appear that the first two are operated by Old Stick and Rudder. The third is registered to a Palmerston North address, but I'm not sure where it is flown.
Wings Over Wairarapa # 13: World War One from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings by Rodney
An eagerly anticipated part of the airshow were the planned displays of various World War One aircraft. Masterton [and Omaka, across Cooks Strait] is a home to these rare aircraft, newly built to original standards, with original construction techniques - right down to replica machine guns and authentic paint schemes.
Wings Over Wairarapa # 14: Microlights from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings by Rodney
Masterton has a healthy range of homebuilt and microlight aircraft. While the airshow did not appear to be designed for showing off these aircraft, I did get a few photos of these types. There were also a couple of gyrocopters and various other "lighties" on display, but I was too busy photographing on the flightline and resting in the shade to get the others :-).
Wings Over Wairarapa # 15: The End from Rodney's Aviation Ramblings by Rodney
Finally we come to the end of the show. Over the past few days, these posts have generated a number of comments, so here's what I think. Highlights? The Yak 52 displays had to be right up there and along with the Corsair, the MX2 and RNZAF displays, that's my top 4.

Aircraft Photography - Orange Glow from Serious Amateur Photography by Jeff Lynch
One of the great things about photographing aircraft is the wonderful colors and unusual shapes and textures you’ll find. It may be the engineer in me but I love looking at a well built piece of machinery that’s been lovingly restored and maintained.
