This just in from a loyal reader, Mint Moore III, who was a close friend for Mr. Losch ....
Fred "Rope Trick" Losch passed away Friday night in his sleep. He was one of the Original members of The VMF-214 Blacksheep that flew with Pappy Boyington. He was a Great friend to all, and he was a Great Friend to our Family. We spent alot of time with him and went to his Ranch in Idaho. He will be remembered as one of the Best Corsair Pilots to have flown the Bent Wing Bird known as the Vought F4U Corsair. Fly Safe --- Fly Fast.

Fred s Losch aka rope trick was my grandfather. Thank you for the kind words about him. He is missed so much every day. I'm glad you had a chance to know such a humble hero.
