Rookie wins first Sport Air Racing League race for 2010

Taylor, Texas - the Sport Air Racing League completed the first race of the 2010 season with a surprise rookie win.
The Cross Country Air Race format places as much demand on pilot skill as it does on fast airplanes, especially a seven-turn, 160 nautical mile race as was the 2010 season opener on Saturday.
Jim Smetzer flew his early-model Glasair III to a class win, fastest overall in the experimental class as well as overall race winner!  Congratulations, Jim!
Final results are available on www.sportairrace.org as well.
