Air Show Wing Walker Leaves Fears on the Ground - News On 6
There are only six active wing walkers in the country. And the one who performed at Saturday's QuikTrip Air and Rocket Show air show is proud to call Tulsa home.
Ashley Battles walks a thin line between danger and disaster. She walks that line because it's her job.
She's been flying since she was a teenager. Ashley graduated from OSU with a degree in aviation. She could fly any plane she wants. Instead, she climbs on top of them.
"I knew I wanted to be a pilot for the rest of my life, but after getting all of my ratings, I was really kind of bored with flying straight and level," she said.

Considering, that the weather was awful, on the way down, who would have thought, that come later on in the morning, we would be taking our coats off, because of the warmth. I linked-up with Peter Smith, but was lucky to talk to Alan as well. He had flown down in the Dakota from Coventry. N.B. water bomber crash cause unclear from CBC News - New Brunswick
It will take some time before the Transportation Safety Board releases a final report and possibly determines the cause of the crash of a water bomber near Miramichi airport on Friday.
Investigators expected to finish collecting evidence from the crash site Sunday.
The pilot, 62-year-old Ron Clowes of Grand Falls, was killed when the aircraft went down in a wooded area just after taking off.
