As the excitement builds in the minutes before the Super Bowl kickoff, four Air National Guard F-15 Eagle fighter jets will scream over Miami's Sun Life Stadium in a dramatic show of military support for the big game.

AirshowBuzz, an aviation-themed multimedia company has launched a new animated series featuring the adventures of a Mike Da Mustang.  Ed Shipley, AirshowBuzz co- founder and Creative Director, talked with EAA Radio's Fareed Guyot about the ambitious 26-episode project.
Shipley also stars in the ASB original series The Horsemen Cometh, about the travels of a three-ship P-51 formation team on the air show circuit.  He says Mike Da Mustang, a P-51 with personality, got its start with a simple drawing.

Air Commodore Charles Widdows, who has died aged 100, joined Britain's Royal Air Force in 1926 as an aircraft apprentice and commanded a night-fighter squadron during the Battle of Britain. At the time of his death on Jan. 10, he was the battle's oldest surviving pilot.
After a series of appointments overseas, Widdows returned to Britain in September 1937 as a test pilot where he carried out extensive tests on the first production Hurricanes and Spitfires. He also flew many other prototypes, and so prized was his experience that at the outbreak of the Second World War he was barred from operational flying. His determination to go into combat was eventually rewarded in June 1940 with the command of No. 29 Squadron, a night fighter squadron based in Lincolnshire and equipped with the the slow, outdated Blenheim.
Widdows quickly identified a degree of laxness and low morale among some of the pilots, whom he set about replacing. He rebuilt the squadron around ...
