2 da Vinci flying machines land at Neb. museum from Diamond Pilots
ASHLAND, Neb. — A traveling exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's amazing machines has landed at the Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland. The exhibition is titled "Leonardo da Vinci Machine in Motion." It runs through May 9. It was created by scientists and crafts workers in Florence, Italy. Da Vinci was born in 1452 in a small town near Florence. He became a scientist, inventor, musician, architect, engineer and artist. His most famous painting is "Mona Lisa." The full-scale machines are made mostly of wood and came from designs in da Vinci's notebooks. They were constructed with tools and materials common in the 15th century. Among da Vinci's ideas were two different flying machines and a wooden tanklike vehicle that carried six cannons.

Horten Ho-18A from The Unwanted Blog
I've seen this painting reproduced commonly enough, but usually the quality is at best "regrettable." This depicts one version of the proposed Horten Ho-18 (or Ho-XVIII), a late WWII idea for a trans-Atlantic bomber capable of hitting New York from European bases. While the concept is confirmed as being a "real design," in recent years it has kinda grown in the retelling, and is now often described as being intentionally radar-stealthy and being a dedicated platform for carrying a ...

Lawrence said he has been flying as a licensed pilot since 1966.
He passed the written part of his test for a commercial pilot license, but couldn't go any further due to physical limitations. So he educated himself on Light Sport Aircraft. ...

E-4B commemorates 35 years on alert from Air Combat Command
To say there have been a lot of changes in the past 35 years would be a bit of an understatement.
To give a frame of reference, gas was roughly 50 cents a gallon, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who currently own six Super Bowl trophies, had yet to win their first, and the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States was in full swing.
However, there is one thing that has not changed, and that's the E-4 sitting on continuous alert, ready to respond to any crisis at a moment's notice.
