Reel Stuff Aviation Resources' Ron Kaplan to lead
film premier, previews and award presentation during
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014
Documentary debut, aviation movie 'coming attractions' among Forum programs featured at world's largest air show next week
(Dayton, OH – July 23, 2014)  Reel Stuff Aviation Resources founder and director, Ron Kaplan, will make several public presentations during the week of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh, the annual fly-in and convention that opens July 28 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

As part of AirVenture's popular free daily Forum lineup, Kaplan will present trailers and "sneak peeks" of clips from upcoming aviation movies in the EAA Museum SkyScape Theatre on Tuesday, July 29, from 10:00am to 11:15am.  The audience will be treated to nine soon-to-be released or broadcast projects including documentaries by producer Nancy Spielberg (ABOVE AND BEYOND), producer Mark Stewart (THE LAST MAN ON THE MOON), and director Patrick Fries (WHEN I HAVE YOUR WOUNDED).  Several of the projects previewed have been the subject of Kaplan's Reel Stuff column in Warbird Digest Magazine and are slated for full screenings by filmmakers at future Reel Stuff Film Festivals.

Also on July 29 in the SkyScape Theatre, from 1:00pm to 2:15pm, Kaplan will introduce the North American premier of the documentary, MIRACLE OF KA114, screened by its director, Sandy Thomson.  The film chronicles warbird collector Jerry Yagen's nine-year re-creation of a rare WWII era Canadian-built twin-engine Mosquito fighter-bomber, from a basket of parts to its triumphant return to the skies in better-than-new condition.  A question-and-answer session with the director will follow.

On Wednesday, July 30, Kaplan will lead several trustees from the board of client National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) in the presentation of the annual Milton Caniff "Spirit of Flight" Award to the 2014 recipient, the EAA Young Eagles Program.  Among those accepting the prestigious honor on behalf of the EAA will be Young Eagles Chairman Sean D. Tucker (a 2008 NAHF enshrinee).  The award ceremony will conclude the Young Eagles Volunteer Dinner program which takes place from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the EAA AirVenture Museum Eagles Hangar.

On Thursday, July 31, at 11:30am to 12:45pm, Kaplan will appear in the EAA Museum Hilton Theatre to present a Forum titled "The Oscar Night of Aviation" on behalf of client NAHF, a behind-the-scenes look at over fifty years of NAHF Enshrinement ceremonies.  Photos and video will highlight tales of American aviation's royalty honored at this historic signature event since the NAHF's founding in 1962, with names like Jimmy Doolittle, Jimmy Stewart, Jackie Cochran, Joe Foss, Bob Hoover and Neil Armstrong among them.  He will also share what is in store at the induction of the Class of 2014 enshrinees in Dayton on October 4th.
