Fallen Warriors Memorial Dedicated in Houston

PFLUGERVILLE, TX – NOVEMBER 1, 2012 – Not all LiveAirShowTV stories can be about air shows and performers. As in life, sometimes we need to take a moment out and remember those who’ve paid the ultimate price for the freedom we enjoy today. Such was the case in October when we attended the dedication of the Fallen Warriors Memorial in Houston. This monument lists, and is dedicated to, those who have lost their lives in the wars in the Middle East from the state of Texas. “It was a great honor to be on hand for the dedication of this monument to these brave men and women”, said Jeff Lee President of LiveAirShowTV. “As the father of a son, daughter-in-law and future son-in-law who have been over there in harm’s way, I can only imagine what these families have gone through.”

Director of the National Memorial Ladies, Cheryl Whitfield was the driving force behind this project. She and many volunteers and contributors made this happen in just two short years. The ceremony included several local dignitaries, as well as 1st Cavalry Division Commanding General Maj. General Anthony Ierardi. A flight of two T-45 Goshawks from NAS Corpus Christi did a fly-over as well as a UH-1 Huey Helicopter.

Special thanks to Curtis Wilson, and Dave Johnson of Cinema Air Support of Texas (www.CastofTexas.com) for the UAV aerials of the memorial.

Take some time to get over to see this wonderful memorial. If you would like to contribute to the upkeep and support of the memorial and organization, their website can be found on the links page of the LiveAirShowTV website.

Even as air show season winds down, LiveAirShowTV continues to bring you the Inside Story of shows and performers. We covered Wings Over Houston, and will be at the final race of the season for the Sport Air Racing League. Watch for those stories soon.
