Exercise Airshow – Safety a Priority

The Wide Bay Australia International Airshow Emergency Management Plan and associated agencies will be put to the test on Thursday 16th December 2010 when they conduct their first table top exercise – Exercise Airshow.

The exercise will bring emergency management agencies together to ‘test’ both the Airport and the Event Emergency Management Plans. The objective is to expose Airshow Organisers, agency managers/supervisors to a series of simulated emergencies including a major aviation emergency response situation.

“Its about being the safest, well planned Airshow we have ever held with solid working partnerships across emergency/disaster management agencies” said Mr Tuffield, Chairperson.

This is the first time a thorough tabletop exercise has been run especially this early in the event planning. All key players are involved including: Qld Police Service, SES, Bundaberg Regional Council, Qld Ambulance and Qld Fire and Rescue.

An actual simulation has been scheduled for March 2011.

The 2011 Wide Bay Australia International Airshow will be held at the Bundaberg Regional Airport from the 19th – 21st August 2011.
