Canadian CF-18 Demo from Windsor International Air Show
If you haven't heard our 2010 Canadian CF-18 Demo jet crashed in Lethbridge a few weeks ago. The pilot Capt. Brian Bews made it out safely with a few injuries but expects to back in the seat again soon. He'll make a full recovery but a timeline hasn't been established for his return. He made it out and that's the important news.
LATEST NEWS - We will still be having a CF-188 at our show and yes it WILL BE FLYING.
What's an air show without a little horsepower?
A big thanks goes out to our coordinator from the DND. He makes it happen.

RAFBF Airshow East Kirkby, Lincolnshire 7-8-2010 by Gary Watson
Had to cut short this visit, due to my elderly dad, becoming 'ill' and with regret, coming to the conclusion, that his airshow-days are over, has he cannot travel for long, and the walk from the carpark, was too much for him. But here is a 'sample' of today, at East Kirkby and the things I saw. So pleased to meet Helen Nall and her husband, and get a 'signed' copy of her book 'The Courage of the small hours'. Saw some 'faces', but one thing did surprise me, was to say it was an 'all-ticket' bash, 'punters' were allowed to pay at the gate. Maybe they had a change of heart, or ticket sales were down. ...

Thirtieth Anniversary – First Public Demonstration Of Solar-Powered Gossamer Penguin from AirSpace
On August 7, 1980, 30 years ago today, Janice Brown flew the solar-powered Gossamer Penguin in full view of a crowd gathered on the Edwards dry lakebed at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center in California. Janice flew the Penguin almost 3.5 km (two miles) that day in 14 minutes, 21 seconds. This was the first sustained flight of a solar-powered aircraft and the longest Penguin flight since development had started on the aircraft two years earlier. However it was not the first flight on solar power alone. Two months earlier, Penguin designer Paul MacCready’s 13-year-old son, Marshall, had made the first solar-powered flight, a short one of about 152 m (500 ft.), on May 18, 1980. ...
