Greetings!

Have you seen (or heard) the B-17 flying around Seattle this week? The EAA's Aluminum Overcast is here for its annual visit, with flights and ground tours from Wednesday, May 26 to Monday, May 31. Visit www.eaa.org or call 800.359.6217 for flight reservations or information.

On Memorial Day, May 31, the Museum honors those who have given their lives in the service of their country with our annual Memorial Day program. The Boeing Employees Concert Band will set the stage by performing patriotic music beginning at noon. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in the Side Gallery, with the University of Washington Air Force ROTC "Blue Dragon" Honor Guard presenting he colors. City of Tukwila Mayor Jim Haggerton will take part in the program. Special guests during the ceremony include Tuskegee Airmen veterans Lt. Col. Bill Holloman III, 2nd Lt. William M. Wheeler, Lt. Col. Bob Friend and Lt. Col. Leo R. Gray. An autograph session follows the ceremony.

On Sunday, May 30 at 2 p.m. visit the Museum for a Tuskegee Airmen panel "The 332nd Fighter Group (The Red Tails) in the 15th Air Force" moderated by Lt. Col. Holloman, and featuring 2nd. Lt. Wheeler, Lt. Col. Friend and Lt. Col. Gray.

Also this weekend, the Cascade Warbirds fly to the Museum on Saturday, May 29, bringing a variety of beautifully restored vintage military aircraft representing several nations' armed forces from WWII through Vietnam. The aircraft will be on view in the Museum's East Parking Lot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Please note that our free evening in June will be held on Wednesday, June 2 from 5-9 p.m., not the traditional first Thursday evening. We will return to the regular schedule in July.

Finally, have you visited WashingtonShuttleBoosters.org yet? The Museum's newly launched website discusses our campaign for one of three retiring Space Shuttles. Read why Washington state would make a great home for the Shuttle, fun Shuttle technology facts, take a sneak peak at the Museum's proposed Space Gallery plans, and find out how you can become a part of Washington Shuttle Boosters by signing our online petition or making a donation toward building our Space Gallery.

 Dream, Discover, Soar!

Sincerely,

The Museum of Flight
