Airshow launched with spectacular display - gethampshire.co.uk
A SPECTACULAR air display has marked the official launch of this year's Farnborough Airshow.
A Spitfire plane and four Blades, the stunt aircraft, flew over the airfield on Wednesday afternoon.
Rod Dean, the show's flight operations director, then landed the Spitfire, while the Blades continued to barrel-roll and loop-the-loop over the airport – a display they will repeat during the airshow, which runs from July 19 to 25.
After the display, Farnborough International chief executive Shaun Ormrod said this year's event would be "bigger and better" than ever.
The first four days of the airshow are trade days while the weekend, July 24 and 25, are the public days that will draw large crowds.

The Reign Continues from Team Bonhomme #55 Pit-News
The pre-race hold is a busy time for a race pilot... the list of ''things to do'' includes the following: you'll need to pull some G to get your body ready for the inevitable 11g you'll find in the track... a kind of ''reminder'' to your heart that it'll need to be pumping at max rate in just a few minutes time. You'll need to roll upside down and ''shake'' the aircraft just to make sure there are no loose objects floating about looking for a control to jam, a quick roll left and right to remind your head that it is connected to your hand and how the ailerons are behaving...
