Jim Stanczak, manager of Waukegan Regional Airport, said Thursday that organizers are lining up participants and seeking sponsors for the event, which drew more than 12,000 spectators to the sixth show in 2007.
Low fund-raising and high fuel costs were among the reasons cited when the show was cancelled last August, about a month before the scheduled date. Also taking 2008 off for the same basic reasons was the Milwaukee Air & Water Show.
