Sept. 11 event held today at Palm Springs Air Museum - The Desert Sun
The Palm Springs Air Museum held a remembrance ceremony at noon today for the victims who perished on 9-11. The ceremony began at noon at the "Flag of Honor" with the names of the nearly 3000 people who died.

Qualifying ended yesterday about noon and Rare Bear flew its qualifying lap with just minutes to spare! After being down for about a year Rare Bear's crew got it flying just in time and then it posted a speed of 468 mph! Amazing for a "test flight." Also, check out the picture of the three Tigercat's in attendance! Bet they sounded good flying in! Thanks to Scott Germain of Warbird Aeropress for the pictures above.

Upcoming Young Eagles Flight from Welcome to the new EAA900 Website!
Roger Tomey has asked for our assistance with an upcoming Young Eagles flight that he is organizing as part of his ongoing educational efforts. This flight will be to fly students that have participated in the Center Grove H.S. Math and Science program. He would like to be able to get 2-3 airplanes from our chapter involved, if possible.
The event will take place on Friday September 26th, at Greenwood Airport (HFY) starting at 10AM, and should be over by about 1:30 depending on how many planes fly.
Roger said this is a great event, and there have been several of the past students who participated go on to earn their pilot certificate! This is a great way we can contribute to Rogers efforts in encouraging kids to explore avaiation, if you are available to fly please contact either Bill H. or me.

Grace on Wings - Upcoming Hog Roast Saturday 9-20 from Welcome to the new EAA900 Website!
Grace on Wings, the charity air ambulance service, will be hosting it's second annual Fly-In Drive-In Hog Roast fund raiser on Saturday, September 20th starting at 11AM.
The event is to be held at Greenwood Airport (HFY); and will include aircraft on static display, sight-seeing flights, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, remote controlled airplane demo, kid's activities, and great food. Fuel discounts will also be available to aircraft flying in!
Free Young Eagle Flights will also be given to kids between the ages of 8 and 17.
