AirPower over Hampton Roads air show

2008 Langley air show packed with performers
LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. – The 2008 AirPower over Hampton Roads air show will showcase a variety of performances. Langley’s AirPower over Hampton Roads air show is a free event that will feature various aerial acts and displays to give an expected 180,000 visitors an up-close-and-personal look at the U.S. Air Force. Gates will open June 20 at 5 p.m. with a live concert from the country music star Pat Green starting at 7 p.m., followed by a night air show and fireworks. On June 21 and 22, gates will open at 9 a.m. The shows will include performances from the Royal Air Force Red Arrows, flying in the United States for the first time since 1993, Team Vortex, Bill Leff, E-Team Skydivers, The USAF Reserve’s Ed Hamill, Geico Skytypers, Sons of Legends, Embry Riddle’s Matt Chapman and the B-2 Spirit. There will also be a U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight with an F-15 Eagle, F-22 Raptor, F-4 Phantom and a P-51 Mustang.
An F-22 Raptor, flown by Maj. Paul Moga, will also perform aerial maneuvers, showcasing its unmatched warfighting capabilities. Many static aircraft will also be available on the ground for public photo opportunities, and children of all ages will have opportunities to get close to the latest Air Force aircraft.
