Andy Anderson, President of Dragon Aviation announced today that the Concord Battery logo will be proudly displayed on both aircraft of their jet act RED STAR AND THE DRAGON. “Cranking amps are critical to the starter generators of these Rolls Royce engines, to little amperage and the units will overheat and eventually fail”, relayed Andy. Jerry Conley, Andy’s partner in the act added, “With the limited space available in the Viper the Concord’s are perfect, plenty of power in a small package, you can hear the difference on the engine’s starting cycle, it’s a lot smoother and ignition comes in quicker.”
“We are expecting a long term relationship with Andy and Jerry and are excited that our products were able to solve what was a long standing problem due to the available space in the aircraft,” added Chris Holder Eastern U.S. Sales Manager for Concord Battery Corporation.

AeroLEDs Enters the Airshow Business
Boise, ID – AeroLEDs President Nate Calvin has decided to put his products into a dual jet aircraft routine called Red Star and the Dragon. Piloted by Andy Anderson and Jerry Conley, the BAC-167
Strikemaster and Viper 29 are flown in the only two-jet airshow routine east of the Mississippi River. They occasionally fly twilight or night shows with pyrotechnics and that is where the AeroLEDs connection comes in.
Conley, who’s an aeronautical engineer, had to design special housings for the lights which are used to illuminate the smoke trails of the jets. For his own aircraft, the Viper 29 (an L-29 with a more powerful engine), Conley had to convert all the original Russian receptacles and reposition the landing light because of drag. On Anderson’s aircraft, the intense heat of the old incandescent bulbs also raised issues on the ground for his jet which the LEDs ameliorated. With repositioning, the two aircraft now have symmetrical “headlight” beams which are very dramatic against a dark sky.
“The AeroLEDs will reduce heat and drag,” said Calvin, “while providing more intense light in a broader beam than the bulbs they replaced. The LEDs have a much longer life (50,000 hours); can
handle greater vibrations and high g loads without issues. They’re ideal for airshow duty.”
With the Blue Angels off the airshow circuit, Red Star and the Dragon have a bright future as a dual jet routine.
For more information on AeroLEDs visit www.AeroLEDs.com and to learn more about the two-jet team visit www.RedStarandDragon.com.

DRAGON AVIATION ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCHING OF THEIR NEW WEB SITE
team RED STAR AND THE DRAGON was live.“After nearly eight years of the old site we felt it was time for a change and a new look. Additionally with all of the negativity in our industry with the military cancellations we thought it would be a good idea to show the industry that some of us are not going to be reactionary, but rather we are pro active and forging ahead, we will get through this tough time and for many, we will be stronger for it,” stated Andy in a recent interview.
“The new site has a clean fresh upbeat look to it and is much easier to navigate; in addition we have added our contract requirements as well as a short history of the Red Star and the Dragon aircraft,” added Jerry Conley Andy’s partner and pilot of the Red Star.

HISTORIC FLIGHT TAKES PLACE AT CULPEPER AIR FEST
On October 7th an historical formation flight took place over the skies of Culpeper Virginia. For the First Time a Percival Provost owned by Air Fest Director Michael Dale was flown in formation with a BAC 167 Strikemaster owned and flown by Andy Anderson from the jet team of Red Star and The Dragon.
The significance of the flight is that the Percival Provost, a radial engine prop trainer aircraft, was the first model in the Provost line of aircraft designed and built by the British Aircraft Corporation and the BAC 167 Strikemaster, a jet powered attack aircraft was the last model in the line. Michael sat in the right seat of Andy’s Strikemaster and witnessed his Provost as it was flown by Michael’s friend Mike Hogan in formation, Michael trained and flew the Provost while he was a pilot with the RAF. It has been 58 years since he had been in formation with a Provost. His ride in the Strikemaster completes the circle of flying in the first and last model of the Provost line.
“It was a moving experience to be in formation with a Provost again after almost 60 years since my training in the RAF. It brought back a lot of warm memories of my youth and I am most grateful to Andy, Linda and Jerry for the opportunity to re live a little of it" said Michael Dale after the flight.

Red Star and The Dragon’s new Transforming Jet Truck a Huge Hit at Dyersburg Elementary Schools
“We have never done anything like this before and I’ll tell you it was a lot of fun,” said Andy.
“The best thing about designing and building this jet truck is that it is street legal; in fact, we drove it from Nicholasville, Kentucky to the air show at Halls, Tennessee,” added Jerry.
With the addition of this new aspect to their act “Red Star and The Dragon” now offer’s more bang for the buck than any other air show in North America –With an exciting choreographed Vietnam themed dogfight, two of the most photographed civilian jet aircraft in the world, with their Dragon and Eagle paint schemes, crowd interaction, phenomenal sponsorship interaction, and now a street legal transforming jet truck added to their act, with the ability for on site or remote community and school interaction.
