Can aviation get its mojo back? · Jamie Beckett, General Aviation News | There was a time not so long ago when aviation was cool. It was hip. It was a celebrity in its own right. Being photographed next to an airplane was a dream come true. Being one of the lucky few who got to actually fly from here to there, faster than any train or car could transport you, was treat that would be told and retold at water-coolers and cocktail parties and pretty much anywhere else people gathered. If you actually knew how to fly you were a virtual demi-god, celebrated by friends and neighbors. You were feted by family. Aviation was king....

Jerry “Jive” Kerby and Wild Blue

PFLUGERVILLE TX – MARCH 19, 2014 – Every wonder why a retired Air Force Lt. Col. who’s http://www.liveairshowtv.com/video.php?vid=171flown some of the most powerful jets around would want to get into an RV-8 for an airshow act?  We wondered that very thing, and caught up with Jerry “Jive” Kerby at the Ft. Worth Alliance Air Show last fall to ask that question.  Jerry was performing as the Flight Lead for the Black Diamond Jet Team, but we had seen him fly his RV-8 named “Wild Blue” at Oshkosh earlier in the summer.  You can tell he has a great time in that plane.  He says, “Wild Blue is a little RV-8 that wants to be a fighter jet.”  Like Jerry, we’re betting that with him at the controls that dream might just happen.

This story was a collaborative effort in conjunction with the Baylor University Film and Digital Media Department.  Senior Rhett Gill is working with LiveAirShowTV this semester as an independent study.  Rhett had to get up to speed on the world of aviation and airshows, and he caught on quickly.  Watch for another story from him very soon.

As the air show season gets off the staring line, LiveAirShowTV is on board.  Watch for reports from Wings Over South Texas/NAS Kingsville, as well as Sun ‘n Fun in April.  Our schedules for live broadcasts are still in the works.  As soon as the shows are locked in, we will announce them.  Keep up with daily news on Facebook and Twitter. It’s going to be a great air show season, and we look forward to seeing you on the ramp!

Meet Team AeroDynamix

PFLUGERVILLE, TX – MARCH 4, 2014 – Aerobatics are the lifeblood of any airshow.  Multi-plane aerobatics are nothing new.  We enjoy the Thunderbirds, and Blue Angels, and others.  But what about a group of guys flying planes that they build themselves?  That’s exactly what the largest aerobatic team in the world is!  LiveAirShowTV introduces you to the 11-plane Team AeroDynamix, that fly the Van’s RV kit planes.

“We built our own aircraft,” says founder and flight lead Mike “Kahuna” Stewart.  The team feels like much of their popularity is due to the fact that the RV is such a popular plane and is flown by so many general aviation pilots.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX – FEBRUARY 19, 2014 – The United Kingdom’s Barcroft Media recently learned what many of us on this side of the Atlantic already knew, the Shockwave Jet Truck is something you just have to see to believe.  Their only issue, it’s not easy to get a triple-jet powered Peterbilt Semi across the ocean.  Thankfully, there was an easy solution!

LiveAirShowTV’s president Jeff Lee got a call from the UK media company asking about obtaining footage for this story.  “We’ve covered Neal and Chris Darnell for several years and have quite a bit of footage from several shows”, said Lee. “Even before my very special ride at Wings Over Houston in October, we were big fans and enjoyed bringing this crowd favorite to our Internet fans.”

LiveAirShowTV Rides Along In Shockwave

http://liveairshowtv.com/video.php?vid=163
PFLUGERVILLE, TX – December 27, 2013 -- LiveAirShowTV wraps up 2013 at nearly 350mph! Except for the Reno Unlimited racers, that’s fast in almost anyone’s book. When you put that speed on the ground in a jet truck, words simply cannot describe it. That’s exactly what happened at the 2013 Wings Over Houston Airshow with LiveAirShowTV’s president Jeff Lee. He rode along on the last run during the Friday practice day, and it was all captured on video (of course).

“You have no idea what 300mph is like. There’s just nothing to compare it to”, said Lee. “We’ve worked with Neal Darnell for many years and he wanted airshow fans to have a better understanding of what it’s like INSIDE the Shockwave Jet Truck.”

Check out the story at: http://liveairshowtv.com/video.php?vid=163
