annual preview of the planes participating in the National Aviation Heritage Invitational during the Reno Air Races. To date we have 30 planes entered. (list will be mailed shortly)…..some are returning participants, and former winners. Two planes do stand out in the field. The first is the 1933 Lockheed Vega DL-1 Special. It is the last Metal Vega of the ten that Lockheed Built. The second is the Moss QED, Gee Bee Replica. You probably saw this plane in Oshkosh. It will be in Reno, and only eligible for the People's Choice Award, since it is replica, and not a restoration. Winners in each class, as well as the overall winner, receiving the Neil A. Armstrong Aviation Heritage Trophy will be handed out on Sunday morning, Sept. 14th.
