HONORING THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED "FREEDOM IS NOT FREE"
An important part of the Wings of Dreams mission is to encourage a spirit of patriotism and a better understanding of American history and the sacrifices made to defend and preserve freedom.
Wings of Dreams wants to celebrate the service of all U.S. military veterans and call attention to a very significant upcoming United States holiday - Veterans Day, which will be observed on November 11. We especially want to show our gratitude to the active duty men and women serving in the Armed Forces.
The Fly Into History short program, including a speaker, patriotic songs, dedication and flyover, will begin at 9 am.

Great fuel prices at Keystone Airport!
Wings of Dream team (Wes Hoy, Bob Oehl, Travis Ashley, Adam Ashley and Greg Ashley) and Davis Express drivers (Kelly Clem and John Dempsey) stand in front of the bottom section of the Hubble Mockup at the Johnson Space Center's Sonny Carter Center in Houston, Texas.
The Hubble mockup was used in the Neutral Buoyancy Lab to prepare astronauts for the Hubble Space Telescope servicing missions. The transport to Wings of Dreams at Keystone Airport was donated by Davis Express, Starke, FL. The transport of the remaining, oversized aft shroud (pictured above) will be donated by Star Intermodal Transportation, Green Cove Springs, FL.

 "Solar System Adventures!" - Wings of Dreams is conducting an after-school STEM program for middle school students, funded by a NASA mini-grant.
The program includes three sessions and a "Star Party" and is being taught by Wings of Dreams volunteer Dr. Francisco Reyes, with the support of the UF Department of Astronomy public outreach initiative and the Keystone Heights Jr/Sr High School.
More educational programs will be offered in the future, available to students in a multi-county area. Topics will include astronomy and space exploration, aeronautics & aviation, rocketry, and aviation and WWII history.
