Sgt. Hugh Bennett was radio operator on B-24 dubbed: ‘The Hard Way’ in WW II - War Tales | Sgt. Hugh Bennet of Englewood, Fla. had returned from World War II when this picture of him was taken. He was 21 and it was shortly before he was discharged from the Army Air Corps. Photo provided Hugh Bennett of Englewood, Fla. was a radio operator on a B-17 “Liberator” bomber dubbed “The Hard Way.” They were part of the 854th Bomb Squadron, 491st Bomb Group, 14th Wing of the 8th Air Force flying out of a base 90 miles north of London at Mayfield, England....
Two Taiwanese Northrop F-5 Jets, Swapped for an A-26 Invader, Arrive in Oregon - Warbirds News | Two decommissioned Taiwan Air Force warplanes, a Northrup F-5E and an F-5F, sent to the US for display, were recently revealed to the public at the Classic Aircraft Aviation Museum in Hillsboro, Oregon. The pair of airworthy jets were swapped for an airworthy Douglas A-26 Invader in a trade so mired in international red tape, that it required the assistance of the US State Department and the approval of Congress....
