It's the annual Seafair Weekend in Seattle. The Navy comes to town with a few ships the public can tour, there are a lot of special events, there are the hydroplane boat races (those things are scary fast) and the Blue Angels show. Truth be told, it's the Blue Angels which draw the most attention and generate the most excitement. With few exceptions, everyone likes the Blue Angels.
Why? Well, there are a lot of reasons but one is the amazement at how precise they are in their work. Imagine flying at fighter jet speed just inches from your team and performing complicated maneuvers. And, the slightest slip or error means death.
Let's be honest, this is really pretty easy stuff…NOT. To be a professional pilot performing at these levels takes years of study and practice. These professionals trust each other. They demonstrate all the elements of trust:
