Jenny Wingwalker  —  Larry C. Price.
Larry C. Price, of the Dayton Daily News, came out to Waynesville to use us as the subject of some footage he wanted to shoot with a protoype of a new Olympus camera/HD videocam. It was a much cooler morning than we had hoped for, so I was bundled pretty good - enough that I had to 'help' my leg over the javelin (something I need not do when in my usual lycra). Even with the cooler temps (50s as I remember), we had a great time. Thanks, as always, to the Stewarts who have been so wonderful to me personally, and to our American Barnstormer team!

New Hampshire Man Found His Sikorsky Seaplane 'a Total Mess' in Alaska - The Ledger
How Dick Jackson found his 1930 Sikorsky S-39 is just about as cool as the plane, itself. Jackson, of Rochester, N.H., fancied seaplanes. He researched Federal Aviation Administration records. That led the now-retired textile manufacturer on a Sikorsky treasure hunt to Alaska in the mid-1960s.
The plane he found - and somehow managed to fall in love with - had trees growing through it. It was dragged, towed and trucked back home.
"It was a total mess," Jackson said.
The Sikorsky flew again in 2003. All it took was a four-decade, 40,000-hour rebuilding.
It's a good thing Jackson's lifelong hobby is rebuilding planes. ...

In the Barnstorming World of Yesterday,This 'Jenny" Would Have Been a Bright Star from Av8rdan's World of Flying by Dan Pimentel | We've all been to air shows and seen wingwalkers. It was indeed a gas, and everyone wanted more…

An endowment has been created for the
Air Power Museum in Blakesburg, Iowa.
“The establishment of this endowment is a key element in our plans for the future of the APM,” said Brent Taylor, treasurer of the Air Power Museum and executive director of the Antique Airplane Association. “Last spring the APM board of directors conducted an extensive evaluation of every aspect of the museum, from infrastructure and buildings, to the aircraft collection and even the website. I went there because I wanted to take the pictures I needed to update e complete the page dedicated to the Museum, with plenty of information, that you can find here:
Italian Air Force Museum. My aim is not only to collect images of the exhibition and close ups of the displayed aircraft but also to track eventual new additions, movements, works etc. Currently, the Skema hangar that hosts the post-WWII aircraft (and most of jets) is still closed for enlargement and maintenance works. As you can see, the aircraft have been moved, a few are barely visible and many were probably transferred elsewhere…
