SEQUESTRATION!
PFLUGERVILLE, TX – May 1, 2013 – It was supposed to be something so horrible that it would force lawmakers to strike a deal on budgetary restraint! Yes, you should probably never see “lawmakers” and “budgetary restraint” in the same sentence. Needless to say Sequestration was forced on the American people and air shows were among those who got hit. “Air shows have been cancelled from coast to coast. The military jet demo teams and single-ship demo teams and jumpers are grounded! Who would have ever thought that would happen”, said LiveAirShowTV President Jeff Lee. “It’s a season where some of the most successful air shows in the country will not have an event this year.”While at Sun ‘n Fun, LiveAirShowTV got a few minutes with Congressman Sam Graves (R) (MO) who sits on the House Transportation Committee, and the General Aviation Caucus; John Cudahy, President of the International Council of Air Shows; and John “Lites” Leenhouts CEO of the Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In. We asked these aviation experts about the effects of Sequestration, what they see going forward, and what we can do to help out.
We also met with Red Bull racer and aerobatic pilot Kirby Chambliss when he was in Austin for the MotoGP race at the Circuit of the Americas. He told us how he has been affected by the action.
