Change of Plans at the Air Race Classic from Air Race Classic 2011 | If you've seen the weather channel or watched any television, you know that we are in the center of a terrible weather pattern.  A huge Low is centered over Iowa.  Winds to 60+ have knocked trains off tracks;  tornados have been spawned, heavy rain and hale....and just plain nasty flying conditions.  As part of the Board of Directors, I have seen a very professional and concerned group of women make the difficult to change the race "in flight".  We had a broadcast several times Monday via Skipe with a weather briefer from the National Weather Service....always with the same poor prognosis.  ARC could not release 45 airplanes into the soup.....
