Flying Legends 2009 from Warbirdworld
The 2009 Legends will host 'Ed Shipley' and others doing their 'Horseman' Mustang demo, from what I hear from Deb of ASB, it really looks like it's going to happen, so we should be in for a treat. Hotels are taking bookings now, Holiday Inn, Bridge Inn have rooms, £113 for friday and £100 for saturday, breakfast extra, however at the Premier Inn Hotel at Girton which is on Madingley Road and not far from a 'little piece of America', they have rooms at standard £67 again breakfast is extra and you can get a evening meal there at the 'Beefeater' Steak house' next door to the hotel complex as I understand it. Warbirdworlds plan of attack over the weekend will be friday watching practice day, and on the Saturday, flightline walk from 09.30am till 12.30pm, Lunch/Beer check out resorations/shots, then at 13.00hrs leave the show to position at Fowlmere end of the airfield to get take-off shots and video footage with out any 'Yapping' over the loadspeaker systems and not having 3 hours of that 'French Gazzer' Bernard 'bending your ears back'. Return with show ticket, Flight in a Rapide and with luck aerial footage of former warbird bases if its 'clear'. Whilst over the weekend, visits to Debden with Edward and visits to assingbourn, Steeple Morden, Nuthampstead, Maddingley which will be for 8th Rememberance Blogs, which will include shots showing the current status of these areas. All in all a busy weekend involved. Sunday is still in the planning stage yet.
