What Do The Readers Want?

The online version of The Indy Transponder is now three months old! Roger and I are very excited (and pleasantly overwhelmed) by the response that we've received from the community. We want to thank all of you for the encouraging remarks and the support.

Our desire to see air show and aviation heritage news in one place helped us realize there was a niche to fill with the Indy Transponder. (There is more on the back story in My bio). To reiterate our "Flight Plan" - The Indy Transponder is a collection of headlines, links, and articles related to Aviation Edutainment which include air shows and air racing. Additionally we highlight aviation heritage, developing youth’s aero interest, Indiana regional aviation, and other articles of interest. Continue to visit and you will find guest articles from various participants and key people engaged in our industry.

Having said that - we realize the Indy Transponder has a lot of room for improvement in fulfilling it's mission. We have a long list of things we want to see happen here. We've had some guest posts already, but we are continuing our efforts to increase the numbers of those who can contribute. We've been enjoying the regular updates regarding the WACO Glider (last update here), and the Society of Air Race Historians have submitted their first air racing history post. However, we could use some contributions from the West Coast, some input from the air racing teams that will be at Reno this year, stories from the hangars of those doing restorations (and if you have your own site, give us a heads up so we can add it to the watch list), and input from volunteers at the various events taking place this season. All would be welcome contributions.

Also, let us know about:

  • Aviation events in your area - we will share the news here.
  • Any stories we've missed.
  • Opportunities - something in your area that deserves attention?
Additionally, Roger and I are aware that the community should have a large influence on how the Indy Transponder grows. Besides aggregating all the air show and aviation heritage news in one place, what else would you like to see? Do you like the contributions we've had thus far? Are there others you'd like to see? What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? Can we do something better? Is there a performer or air race team you would like to see more news about? Just like the Transponder in your aircraft, we send out a signal, or a news story, that we hope you find useful and your return signals us to your interest.

To all our readers - thank you.

Your support is greatly appreciated!
