FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 22, 2008 ~ FLORIDA AIR SHOW WILL GIVE OVER $70,000 TO CHARITY ~ Thanks to tremendous support from the community, the Florida International Air Show Board this week voted to present 43 charities over seventy thousand dollars from the proceeds of the 28th annual event. Chairman of the Board, Fred Buckingham, made the announcement today. He also said, “Our board and 600 plus volunteers worked many extra hours this year because we made a lot of changes. Then we faced an ominous weather forecast, still the community showed up and supported the event. Thanks to them and our 800 plus volunteers we are able to give this amount of money to help our area charities.” The Board will make distributions to the charities on Tuesday, June 10th at 5:00 PM at the SkyView Café at the Charlotte County Airport. The Florida International Air Show is a not-for-profit Florida corporation. The annual event has presented over 2.3 million dollars to charities since its inception in 1981.
