Internet radio makes big impression on the aviation industry as Flight Line Internet Radio surpasses 1,000,000 and continues to grow.
Flight Line internet Radio (FLiR), launched in October of 2008 is pleased to announce that they have exceeded 1,000,000 visitors to their website last month. 

Flight Line Internet Radio is a radio station that caters to aviation enthusiasts. FLiR is a 24/7 internet based radio station that has a global reach, with various topical segments that will entertain almost anyone that enjoys flight.  The radio station follows a general format of a traditional local radio station, mixing topical segments with music and normal radio commercials.  The concept is to attract listeners because of their hobby or passion instead of their geographical location.

Flight Line Radio is a partnership of Jamie Till and Don Costanza.  Both Don and Jamie are Fort Wayne Indiana natives with diverse backgrounds and a passion for all things aviation related. They have been providing a unique radio service to many major venues such as “Airventure” and “The Indianapolis Air Show” as well as many other non-aviation events for over four years.

“We set out to build something that would compliment our core program as well as be interesting to aviation enthusiasts, something that could be the “background music” in their office, shop, or FBO.” states Jamie Till.  The station carries news and commentary from several prominent aviation podcasters, several specialty shows as well as articles from “GA News.”  “The Indy Transponder” is a daily contributor, providing top of the hour overviews of aviation entertainment news.

Rocket Racing League Reawakens from The Launch Pad

Following many quiet months, the Rocket Racing League has come back on the radar, much to our rocket-loving delight. In the first-ever public flights, two Mark III X-Racers will be flying demonstrations at the Tulsa Air and Rocket Racing Show this Saturday, April 24th. The vehicles are capable of speeds up to 250 mph (~400 kph) and are powered by engines providing 2500-lbs (~11,000 N) of thrust -- not to mention the 15 ft/4.5m long exhaust flame that trails behind.

Airfest 2010 - Friday Flyer
Airfest 2010 at March Air Reserve Base will take to the skies with "Thunder Over The Empire" during the weekend of May 1 to 2. Larry C. Price, of the Dayton Daily News, came out to Waynesville to use us as the subject of some footage he wanted to shoot with a protoype of a new Olympus camera/HD videocam. It was a much cooler morning than we had hoped for, so I was bundled pretty good - enough that I had to 'help' my leg over the javelin (something I need not do when in my usual lycra). Even with the cooler temps (50s as I remember), we had a great time. Thanks, as always, to the Stewarts who have been so wonderful to me personally, and to our American Barnstormer team!

How Dick Jackson found his 1930 Sikorsky S-39 is just about as cool as the plane, itself. Jackson, of Rochester, N.H., fancied seaplanes. He researched Federal Aviation Administration records. That led the now-retired textile manufacturer on a Sikorsky treasure hunt to Alaska in the mid-1960s.
The plane he found - and somehow managed to fall in love with - had trees growing through it. It was dragged, towed and trucked back home.

The Sikorsky flew again in 2003. All it took was a four-decade, 40,000-hour rebuilding.

For what was promoted as the last and final reunion of the Doolittle Raiders, hundreds of fans and admirers were in Dayton, Ohio, on April 16-18 to attend the Raiders 68th Reunion.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force hosted the reunion, which featured four of the original members of the famous Doolittle Raid of April 18, 1942. The show features topical aviation related news, interviews, and occasionally they talk about beer. The Warbird Beer Show is recorded each Saturday and replayed throughout the week.
