Kroger continues as Presenting Sponsor of Air Show

Dayton, Ohio – Officials at the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger announced today that The Kroger Co. will continue as the Show’s Presenting Sponsor.  While one of our nation’s largest grocery retailers, The Kroger Co. spans over 30 states and also includes convenience and jewelry stores along with manufacturing facilities.   Kroger’s partnership with the Vectren Dayton Air Show began in 2001 and the renewal agreement will extend the relationship for an additional three-year period or through 2015.

As the Presenting Sponsor, over 100 Kroger grocery outlets in the Dayton/Cincinnati area provide discount advance general admission tickets to the public.  Along with discount ticketing, Kroger also provides a contribution, advertising and chalet catering through its Chef’s Choice catering division.  To learn more about Kroger, visit www.kroger.com.

“Kroger has, over the years, built a great partnership with the Air Show,” said Sukanya Madlinger, President of the Cincinnati/Dayton Division of Kroger, “and each show is more amazing and breathtaking than the previous year.  We’re happy to continue that partnership and to present this fantastic event.”

Held annually at the Dayton International Airport to promote Dayton’s rich aviation heritage, the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger is one of the nation’s longest-running air shows. The Show is a self-sufficient, non-profit event that relies on sponsorship and community support to offset costs for producing the event.  The 2012 event concluded 38 consecutive years of operation.

“This is fantastic news,” stated Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, producers of the event.  “Our partnership with Kroger is vital to the overall success of our Show.  We are grateful for the awesome role Kroger plays in supporting our community and specifically our Air Show,” Emoff added.

The 2013 Vectren Dayton Air Show is tentatively scheduled for July 20th and 21st.  In December announcements on upcoming attractions will be made on the show’s website www.daytonairshow.com.
