BUILDING MODEL & MINIATURE AIRCRAFT: COMBINING ART, SCIENCE & HISTORY
Display of Scale & RC Model Aircraft and Demo Flights by "Cloudbusters"
The Wright Brothers may have been the most notable first modelers in history. Wilbur and Orville Wright used models to test their theories of flight and eventually developed the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard.
Model building for display and flying has helped launch many aviation careers, including Air Force generals and astronauts, and is enjoyed by people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Wings of Dreams is proud to display highly-detailed models that have been donated to help showcase significant eras of aviation history and highlight the many historic advancements in aeronautics.
All of these donated models will be used in displays and dioramas, to inspire interest in aircraft modeling building, and to introduce aviation and history to young people.
Members of the "Cloudbusters" RC Club, based at Keystone Heights Airport, will display their RC aircraft and conduct demo flights after the fly-in.
