Racers will bed down at the world class Choctaw Resort Casino.  When not flying racers may enjoy headliner entertainment, great restaurants, clubs and gaming,  all a few minutes from Race Central.

Racing starts with a 100nm Sport Air Racing League Championship Point sanctioned event on May 24, 2014.   Test your plane and your flying skills on a fast five turn course. Pilots going for the annual Sport League Point Championships will have a great opportunity to add to their point totals at this event.  The 100nm course is fast, fun and safe.   It is a great place to start your racing career.  A short course is also available for pilots who fly aircraft with limited range and/or a top speed of less than

100mph.  Here an Ercoupe or Piper cub can be a real racer!  This is classed/timed speed racing and speed over the course determines the winners.  All aircraft are individually timed and launch in speed order, fastest first.   Awards and prizes will be presented that evening.

The 600 Mile Championship Cup event will be held on May 25, 2014 with a mandatory pilot’s briefing at 4pm on May 24, 2014. It is a one day round robin course with two no penalty/strategy stops. Racers launch at their own discretion within the race window.  This event offers the full card of Sport League sanctioned classes, Challenge classes for like make/model aircraft and the ultimate Championship Cup awards.  In addition to the Sport League sanctioned classes pilots may race in Challenge class.  Here aircraft of the same make/model compete.  Here models of aircraft that are not the real speed demons in class may take part in very competitive racing.  Think the Cessna 172 or Cessna 206 or the Bellancas.   Cross country speed records will be set and Championship Cups will be awarded for Experimental and Factory Planes, normally aspirated, turbo/supercharged and prop jet, single and multiengine and  Heavy metal single and multiengine for the war birds and classics.    Who has built the fastest plane?  What manufacturer has offered the fastest plane?  What classic or War bird is the fastest on the distance course?  Here the proof will be on the 600nm open course.

Racers will have many opportunities for families and fans to come and enjoy themselves when not cheering on their racer.  The Choctaw Casino Resort is a destination and the surrounding area boasts Lake Texoma and the great Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations.  Outdoor recreation abounds and our Native American heritage is on display.  Durant Municial Airport is home to the Southern Oklahoma University Flight department.  This school has a premier college of aeronautics and the Air Meet is proud to be able to work with our young pilots who call Durant Muni home.

Now is the time to make plans to be part of the First International Air Meet-Championship Cross Country Air Races.  Be part of our air racing history by making history.

The International Air Meet provides a gathering place for all pilots and their aircraft to come together and exchange ideas and do what they love best, FLY.   This is a true proving ground for our planes.  Home builders and manufacturers will have proven performance data gathered on a normal cross country flight.   This event is the start of something worthwhile, fun and safe.  We are keeping our time honored sport of cross country air racing alive and relevant in the 21st Century.   Our sport supports General Aviation.   Pilot skills are improved by taking part.  Aircraft and power plant designs will be advanced in that search for more speed.  Cross country air racing is back and it is accessible and affordable and safe for all.

Act now, Entry Deadline is April 11, 2014.

Be part of making the Air Meet a success and step up to be a sponsor.   Sponsorship opportunities include being a named event sponsor, advertising in the official program and named award sponsorships that will allow individuals and companies to honor a favorite.
