Air Force Museum Foundation announces sponsors for of Doolittle Tokyo Raiders' Final Toast - National Museum of the USAF Top Stories | The Air Force Museum Foundation announces sponsors of the events surrounding the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders' final toast to their fallen comrades to be held at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force Nov. 8 and 9, 2013. The lead sponsor is Hennessy, the #1-selling Cognac in the world. In 1956, Hennessy presented Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle with a vintage 1896 bottle of Hennessy Cognac, honoring the year of his birth. Three years later, at a reunion in Tucson, Ariz., a tradition of honoring the Raiders' legacy was formed when its members were presented with 80 silver goblets by the City of Tucson. Honouring Bill Carr - Vintage Wings of Canada | This past Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, we had our Vintage Wings Victory Gala, celebrating our accomplishments of the past year... of which we had many. As is our tradition, we raise a banner honouring a living veteran pilot of the Second World War. In past years, we have honoured men like Max Ward, Stocky Edwards and Bill McRae. This year, a year we celebrated leadership in all its facets, we paid a long overdue tribute to Lieutenant General William Carr, a photo recon Spitfire pilot from the war. The Palm Springs Air Museum Republic F-105D Thunderchief · Warbirds Update | The Palm Springs Air Museum landed a Republic F-105D Thunderchief  to add to its growing collection of Vietnam-era aircraft.Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio gave the museum until August to raise the money needed to take the surplus supersonic fighter-bomber off its hands — saving it from becoming scrap metal by way of a crusher.Thanks to an outpouring from the desert community, the museum raised not only the $21,000 needed to tear down, transport and restore the F-105, but an additional $19,000 to maintain the plane...
