Teaching a Rock Star
to Fly on The Aviators!

The Aviators crew is headed to Las Vegas, NV at the end of June for two weeks to film what's expected to be the most unusual and entertaining series of segments for the show.

Rock stars are notorious for their reckless antics but setting the wild life aside for at least a couple of weeks will be none other than Motley Crue front man Vince Neil.

Vince has been hitting the books between shows on the band's current tour and is taking a two weeks off to become aviation-immersed in an accelerated pilot training program.

Vince NeilThe Aviators will take viewers through Vince's entire flight training experience: from first flight to first solo ending the season revealing the answer to the burning question "Can a rock star get his pilot's license?"

The segments are made possible by the accelerated training experts at AFIT, Monarch Sky LLC, and, of course, Sennheiser - trusted by aviators and rock stars alike, as a part of their Live Your Dream scholarship program which assists aspiring pilots to take to the skies.

Be sure to visit our Facebook page to share with Vince your words of encouragement.

Filming for Season 3 in NY, WI, OH, NM, VA, MD, NV, and MA

Boy oh boy, have we been busy! Aviators crews have quite literally been flying across the country to bring you a truly amazing third season. We're having loads of fun exploring the many fascinating things and meeting the many wonderful people from the world of aviation.

Filming Locations: Seasons 1-3

In our travels we've been covering the U.S. Navy's 1812 commemorative events in New York City, Virginia Beach, and Baltimore concluding on the 4th of July in Boston.

We also visited Eclipse Aerospace and Rainbow Balloons in Albuquerque, and flew in the Mitsubishi MU-2 in Columbus, OH. The U.S. Air Force is playing host to Aviators crews at Nellis AFB in the Nevada desert. And we helped to kick off a Nascar race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI (sort of, stay tuned to figure out the Nascar/aviation tie-in).

It's amazing how we can summarize two months of travel in a few short sentences. But then again, the real storytelling will happen in just a few months, when season 3 of The Aviators hits PBS, Travel+Escape, and iTunes this September.
