Luqa airshow 2009 from PPRuNe Forums
Just returned from attending the Luqa Airshow in Malta. Great show as usual for such a small organisation including a great performance from the Breitling Jet Formation Team. RAF participation sadly lacking after last year's excellent showing, 2 Tornados, 2 Harriers and a Dominie in the static were all we could manage. I know times are hard and money is tight but surely a few minutes demo by a Harrier wouldn't have broken the bank and would have been a highlight of the show as is usual.

A WILD DAY IN BARCELONA from Mike Goulian Airshows by Karin
Well, where do I start. First, our morning training session went well and we were again in the thick of the battle. However, the times are now unbelievably close. In fact, third to seventh place was separated by less than one second. In other words, it's anybody's game come Quali and race day. When the times are this close, the luck of a few winds gusts at the wrong time could make the difference, which is a probability on this ocean layout.
The drama of the day came mid-morning when we were informed that the fancy new engine Hannes is running for this race was found to be illegal according to

C/LtCol Melanie Davis: Incentive Ride in the Mighty L-39 from Airspeed by Stephen Force (Steve Tupper)
We're very fortunate here in the Michigan Wing of Civil Air Patrol for a number of reasons. One of the best is LtCol Tim Brutsche, better known to some as "Dawg," leader of the L-39 demonstration team, The Hoppers.
Here's why. Tim offers a ride in his L-39 to any Michigan Wing cadet who completes CAP's Spaatz Award.
The General Carl A. Spaatz Award is the highest award in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program. Think Eagle Scout and then some. It's awarded to cadets who successfully complete all phases of the CAP cadet program and a final checkout consisting of a comprehensive leadership and aerospace education...

Model-gasm: Boeing TFX display from The Unwanted Blog
Back when Boeing was bidding on the TFX (what became the F-111), they studied a *vast* array of designs, some of which were very unusual… and some futuristic, such as VTOL versions and a stealthy design that featured blending much like a modern stealth fighter. At one point they seem to have hosted some sort of open house, displaying a number of these designs in wind-tunnel model form.
