ROCKY MOUNTAIN AIRSHOW TAKES OFF IN DENVER THIS WEEKEND

DENVER, Colorado: Building on a proud history of presenting the best in aviation to the region, the Rocky Mountain Airshow is bigger than ever this year featuring not only astounding aerial performances but adding in Hot Air Balloons and expanding our Adventure Zone with aviation focused STEM programs. There is something for all ages at this event. Bring the family and spend the day! Non-stop entertainment in the air and on the ground!

“We are thrilled to bring the most sought after aerobatic performers to Denver this year,” stated Jim Cimiluca, Event Chairman. “Kirby Chambliss is a five-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and two time Red Bull Air Race World Champion. We are also proud to be selected by a very exclusive team as one of only 20 events worldwide to host the USAF F-22 Raptor. Performances by other military demo teams have fallen victim to tough budget cuts. It’s very possible this may be the only chance we get to see the world’s air dominance leader perform for us in Denver.”

The all new Rocky Mountain BalloonFest in conjunction with the Air Show, brings Hot Air Balloons back to Denver with a Friday night glow and morning sunrise launches and features the first appearance of the Planet Earth balloon as well as the ever popular Smokey Bear promoting fire prevention. The line-up adds to the widest range of attractions already scheduled for the weekend long aviation event with non-stop entertainment on the ground as well as in the air. There is truly something for all ages and the entire family!

Current list of Air Show performers scheduled to appear are:
USAFA Wings of Blue Parachute Demo, Rocky Mountain Renegades, Don Nelson, Matt Tanner, Dan Buchanan, USAFA Glider Demo, Gary Rower, Melissa & Rex Pemberton, Red Stars, Don Nelson/Matt Tanner, Mark Johnson/Roy Halladay, Pyro the Jet Truck, Kent Pietsch, Trojan Phlyers, Kirby Chambliss, F-22 Raptor/Heritage Flight

The 10th annual air show kicks off the premier aviation weekend in the Rocky Mountain Region with the Friday night twilight air show followed by the Hot Air Balloon Glow and then Fireworks presented by Webroot Security. The AdventureZonetm kid’s area will showcase numerous activities and hands on projects to engage and excite kids of all ages while emphasizing the importance of STEM curricula. Hundreds of aircraft from across the country will also be on ite for the 33rd annual Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-in held in conjunction with the air show.
