DAV Brings Message to Exchange Club of Redding Air Show 2009

Redding, California– The Disabled American Veterans will bring its message of service and volunteerism in support of our nation’s veterans to the Exchange Club of Redding Air Show on September 26-27, 2009.

The DAV, an organization of more than 1.2 million disabled veterans, is a non-profit organization founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932. It is dedicated to a single purpose: building better lives for our nation’s disabled veterans and their families.

As part of a national airshow tour, the DAV will bring its timely and patriotic message on the wings of Pacific Prowler, a fully restored B-25 Mitchell Bomber. Throughout the day, DAV representatives will be on hand and ready to meet, greet and answer questions about the organization’s free services to veterans and their families.

Alongside the B-25, airshow spectators will find a fully interactive display where they can learn more about DAV services and obtain information about veterans benefits. Information on the DAV’s extensive Voluntary Service Network will also be available to let those interested know how to get involved in providing assistance to disabled veterans.

“The DAV is thrilled to bring our message of volunteerism and support to our nation’s sick and disabled veterans to this air show. We believe the men, women and children who will visit this air show are the patriotic, military-friendly citizens that have helped make this nation so great,” said DAV National Commander Roberto Barrera. “The DAV is proud to be among this crowd, and meet those who want to know more about our service to veterans.”
