Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Sets Off on a New Voyage March 9th

To celebrate the sciences, FOX40 brings you the “COSMOS Student of the Week” sponsored by the California Capital Airshow.  From March 14-May 30, select students will participate in a science project live on the FOX40 News with morning meteorologist Darren Peck. Students can be any age, from preschool to college. To nominate a “Cosmos Student of the Week,” visit our website at FOX40.com/student.

FOX40 has partnered with the Science Olympiad to provide Cosmos-themed challenges (experiments, lessons, tasks) to all students, free of charge, on FOX40.com. These lessons will be standards-aligned educational experiments that tap into the themes of each episode. They will be designed to be short and easy to use in a classroom setting – or, can be accomplished on a student’s own time. Materials lists are included with every challenge.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics are such important fields for our local young people to explore...and FOX40 salutes those kids in the know!

About Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey
More than three decades after the debut of “Cosmos,” Carl Sagan’s stunning and iconic exploration of the universe as revealed by science, FOX sets off on a voyage for the stars with COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY.

Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD) teamed up with Sagan’s original creative collaborators to conceive a 13-part “docu-series” that will serve as a successor to the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning original series. Renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson guides us on a new voyage to explore how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time on COSMOS: A SPACETIME ODYSSEY premiering Sunday, March 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX40.
