AirVenture pilots practice locally - Herald Times Reporter | MANITOWOC — EAA AirVenture 2013 continues in Oshkosh through Sunday attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators. They come from around the world spending millions of dollars on admission, food and lodging and other expenses. With a three-day pre-show visit to the Manitowoc County Airport by about 45 T-34 airplane pilots and family members, the economic impact of America's biggest air show extended east across Lake Winnebago to include businesses in the Lakeshore area....

2013 Amigo Airsho to be held at Santa Teresa Airport - KVIA El Paso | EL PASO, Texas - The Amigo Airsho is heading to the Santa Teresa Airport this year. While the announcement won't officially be made until Thursday afternoon at a news conference, Karen Perez, the chairwoman of the board of the Dona Ana County Commissioners, told ABC-7 the move is a done deal. Perez said the airshow will be in early October but will be a smaller version compared to past Amigo Airshos and will be more educational and oriented toward children.

Airport Fly-In Breakfast set for Sunday, Aug. 11 - Moody County Enterprise | The Team of Angels will be serving breakfast during the Flandreau Airport Fly-in on Sunday, Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Flandreau airport located three miles south of Flandreau on Hwy. 34. The breakfast will include scrambled eggs, French toast, coffee and juice for $6 per person, kids ages 4-12--$3 and kids age three and under and PIC eat free....

Work to begin on Beck-Odegaard Wing addition - In-Forum | FARGO – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Fargo Air Museum’s Beck-Odegaard Wing addition will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 10. Gerry Beck and Robert Odegaard were founding members of the museum and believed in the dream of a rotating flying museum. The new building will display the B-25 Mitchell that Beck donated in the early years with hopes to create an interactive diorama to share the World War II history and stories of the Doolittle Raiders....

Local aviator still flying high at 99 - Dayton Daily News | Helicopter use for care flights, news coverage and police work are common now, but not when 99-year-old Al Butterfield started promoting and flying such missions — after a career in engine maintenance. Born in Indianapolis, Butterfield says, “I took three years of military training in high school and joined the National Guard before WWII started. A commissioned officer in the Guard taught me to fly in 1934 – I could fly all military planes.”...
