Pictures from CRUZEX IV from Military Photos by santana
The CRUZEX is a multilateral aerial operation among the Air Forces of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France, Uruguay and Venezuela, the Blue Forces (Coalition Forces). The exercise will take place on November 1st to 14th, 2008, in the Northeast of Brazil. The Brazilian Air Force fight in both sides, Blue and The Red Forces (Opponents Forces). The side Blue has a high number of planes (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile and France) against the reds with ~6 to ~10 aircraft (just Brazil). You can think that it will be "easy" to the Blue Forces, but it's not like this. In the last CRUZEX, two years ago, the Red team was the 1º/14º Fighter Squadron PAMPA of the Brazilian Air Force, using the F-5EM + BVR Derby + R-99A AEW&C (the same Squadron went to Red Flag 2008). They got excellents results: Mirages 2000C, A-4AR and Mirage 2000N where shot down whithout any lost in the red team. They fought with just 6 F-5EM against all countries.
