July 1, 2008 — DAYTON, Ohio —Dayton air show fans can meet the authors of a new book about the air show at a series of book discussions that begin next week, including one with National Aviation Hall of Fame nominee Sean D. Tucker.

The Dayton Air Show: A Photographic Celebration spans more than two decades of the Dayton region’s biggest annual aviation event, with more than 200 color photographs by Ty Greenlees and text by Timothy R. Gaffney. Tucker, an air show superstar who has flown in many Dayton shows, wrote the foreword to the book and is featured on its cover.

• Greenlees and Gaffney will discuss their book on Wednesday, July 9, at 5 p.m. in the Vandalia Kroger Store, 780 Northwoods Blvd. Kroger is selling the book in its stores.

• Tucker will join them for their next discussion on Wednesday, July 16, at 7 p.m. in Books and Company at The Greene, 4453 Walnut St. in Beavercreek.

• On Saturday, Aug. 16, Greenlees and Gaffney will appear at 1 p.m. at the Dayton Metro Library’s Main Library, 215 E. Third St.

Orange Frazer Press, the publisher, released the book in time for the 2008 Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger, coming up at Dayton International Airport on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20, and the National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in the Dayton Convention Center on Saturday, July 19. Tucker will fly in the air show and be inducted in the hall of fame at its enshrinement ceremony.

Books are available now in Kroger stores, Books and Co., and other bookstores. It will also be available at the air show’s merchandise booth during the show. In addition, books may be ordered online at
